Breach Lookup
Spybot Identity Monitor is a tool that checks the email addresses and usernames you specify, using an online lookup.
By using Spybot Identity Monitor, you transmit the following data:
- Any email addresses specified for monitoring
- Any usernames specified for monitoring
- Your IP address (mandatory for any Internet connection)
This data gets sent to Have I Been Pawned, a trusted service by Troy Hunt, Microsoft Regional Director and Most Valuable Professional awardee for Developer Security. Your monitored addresses are not stored there. You can check the HIBP Privacy Policy for details.
Update Check
Spybot Identity Monitor can optionally check for software updates for itself on program start. In this case it transmits:
- Your IP address (mandatory for any Internet connection)
This data gets sent to our own webserver only. It is not stored or used except for standard webserver logs.
