Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUPs)

Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUPs) / Potentially Unwanted Applications (PUAs) defines software that have been installed by the PC user, but are known to exhibit unwanted behaviour. These programs are often installed/bundled as part of the installation of other unrelated programs.

Many PUPs cause issues such as decreasing PC performance, modifying the PC, monitoring/tracking the PC user, displaying advertisements, or introducing a security vulnerability.
