Description:
PU.SpeedAnalysis4 creates a browser helper object (BHO), some registry entries and several files and folders in program files directory. When run, it displays ads for other unwanted applications esp. those by Mindspark.

You can try to uninstall products with the names listed below; for items identified by other properties or to avoid malware getting active again on uninstallation, use Spybot-S&D or RunAlyzer to locate and get rid of these entries.
  • Products that have a key or property named "Speed Analysis 4".

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.
  • The file at "<$APPDATA>\SpeedAnalysis4\speedanalysis.crx".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Speed Analysis 4\AddonsFramework.Typelib.dll".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Speed Analysis 4\background.html".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Speed Analysis 4\BackgroundHost.exe".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Speed Analysis 4\BackgroundHost64.exe".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Speed Analysis 4\BackgroundHostPS.dll".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Speed Analysis 4\ButtonSite.dll".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Speed Analysis 4\ButtonSite64.dll".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Speed Analysis 4\config.xml".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Speed Analysis 4\ScriptHost.dll".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Speed Analysis 4\uninst.exe".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Speed Analysis 4\uninstall.exe".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If PU.SpeedAnalysis4 uses rootkit technologies, use the rootkit scanner integrated into Spybot-S&D 2.x or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D to remove them.

  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "Speed Analysis 4.Navbar", plus associated values.
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "Speed Analysis 4.ScriptHostObject.1", plus associated values.
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "Speed Analysis 4.ScriptHostObject", plus associated values.
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "Speed Analysis 4.Tool.1", plus associated values.
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "Speed Analysis 4.Tool", plus associated values.
  • Delete the registry key "{20937EE5-803B-47C8-B8F3-8EC9F4F5C5F9}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".

  • Delete the registry key "{399EE564-AFA7-4BF7-8B67-311CF9E6D415}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
  • Delete the registry key "{7555739A-1D98-43C0-9A22-60B4F40D08D4}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
  • Delete the registry key "{7F5A6891-3C17-45A7-83B8-00B498A40A10}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
  • Delete the registry key "{B53B842B-5A6E-4E84-9AC7-104B9C54283D}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
  • Delete the registry key "{C6BCB963-A8F0-4935-8C87-2049B2C5EE00}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Low Rights\ElevationPolicy\".

  • Delete the registry key "kgghkmajmniepopdaohlkhpgebipifib" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Google\Chrome\Extensions\".
  • Delete the registry key "Speed Analysis 4" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\".
If PU.SpeedAnalysis4 uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
