Detected as: BPS Spyware Remover (Malware)
Stolen by: BulletProofSoft
Evidence: mostly hold back until legal matters have been settled. I will only
mention one very small part of the evidence here, which has already been fixed
in SpywareNuker (which seems to be a licensed version of BPS), but was still part
of BPS the last time I checked (April 2003).
Please create the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\EPOS AG.
Both Spybot-S&D and BPS will detect this as X-Diver. Now here is even
double-evidence - the real key is actually named EOPS AG, not EPOS AG -
the later one was an invention by myself - a key with an intentionally typo that
was never created by the mentioned dialer. Second, this belongs to the dialer
EOPS Connector, not to X-Diver as which it is detected
(intentionally under the wrong name by me - but why by BPS?).
Making the same 'typo' is highly improbable in times of copy & paste and
other automation - but placing the same typo under the same different and wrong
product/dialer name completely independent seems impossible.
